How do I create a multi-channel DPSK emulator using a WaveShaper and an ASE source?

WaveManager has a DPSK filter shape built in and you can create a channel plan in the following way:

Using WaveManager 2.x (all WaveShapers)

  1. Load WaveManager
  2. Go to the Advanced Tab
  3. Under Filter Shape, select: DPSK_40Gbps.ucf
  4. Set ‘Center’ to the centre frequency of your first channel
  5. Under <Apply Over>, click the option marked ‘Window’
  6. Tick the box marked ‘repeat every __ THz, for __ times’
  7. Configure these to your liking. You might want to expand the Window bandwidth.

Using the WaveShaper App or Waveshaper Webserver (Series A WaveShapers only)

  1.  Load the  DPSK_40Gbps.ucf
  2. Set ‘Center’ to the centre frequency of your first channel
  3. Under Advanced, select ‘repeat every __ THz, for __ times’ and configure these to your liking. You might want to expand the Window bandwidth.

In either case, you can apply this directly, or save it to a WSP file for later use. Alternatively, if you want to apply channels only in specific locations, you can do this when applying over a window. This is because applying under a window won’t modify your filter anywhere outside the window frequency range.
